Meet Miracle Mile Champion #14: Logan Kile
Monday Inspiration to keep you “Charging On” – Please watch Logan’s video
The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon and ½ Marathon is October 21st and we’re honored to be the event’s title beneficiary. As we countdown to the Marathon we’ll introduce you to our “mile champions.” These 26 special children and teens, each with a moving story to share, will be designated a mile along the event course. They will serve as patient ambassadors – to motivate participants and engage the entire community in this vital fundraising event. Each child will have a fundraising page for their mile and many of the miles will have corporate sponsors.
This week we introduce you to Logan Kile
Age: 3
Hometown: Hilliard, Ohio
Condition: Charge Syndrome
Need some inspiration? Take a minute to watch Logan’s story as shared by his amazing parents, Jenny and Richard.
After a long battle with infertility, the Kile’s became pregnant with their son Logan. At 34 weeks pregnant, they discovered that little Logan had an esophageal malformation, and would require immediate surgery after birth. After Logan came into the world, he was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for what turned into months of surgery, tests, and fears. After only months of life, Logan was diagnosed with Charge Syndrome. Charge Syndrome often leads to deafness, blindness, and a multitude of other diagnoses.
Logan Kile defied expectations and broke boundaries that surrounded him. While he still has a few “special needs,” Logan is a healthy and happy three year old boy who loves music and learning. He will be our Patient Champion for Mile #6 of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon. Logan loves music so expect a Rockin’ mile!!
We invite you to learn more and join Logan’s team.
